Dear Zindagi is a sensitively crafted and remarkable directed slice-of-life film by writer-director Gauri Shinde. It’s laced with the poignant message that life’s beauty lies in finding joy in its imperfections. Though the film deals with relationship and break-up issues of young Kaira (Alia Bhatt), the therapy sessions have lessons for every viewer. The film’s plus points are the splendid performances by Shah Rukh Khan and Alia and the natural dialogue. As her therapist, SRK lights up the screen with his innate charm and pleasing persona, which adds magic to their onscreen chemistry. Alia delivers yet another flawless performance and is brilliant in every scene. It requires guts and talent to make an offbeat film like this.
