There are path-makers and there are path-breakers. Vinod Khanna was a metaphor of the latter. Nothing he did conformed to the norm. With his devastating good looks – including the conspicuous cleft and inimitable swagger, he began as a baddie whom women loved to love. Even when he began playing the second lead with superstars, he posed a serious threat. And when he was just about to reach the top of the number game, he quit the showground to seek spirituality in an alternate world - Osho Rajneesh’s ashram. Many may have been appalled by this harakiri but for the nonchalant Vinod, it was just about following his heart. On a lighter note he went on to be the sexiest sanyasi ever!
