Spare a thought for Cheryl right now. While the singer is concentrating on moving forward with her life, it seems that her ex-boyfriend – and father of her 18-month-old son Bear – Liam Payne can’t help but cause her more pain and upset. Just a week after he was linked to model Cairo Dwek, Liam was seen getting intimate with Rita Ora at the VMAs in New York. Before performing their sexy duet For You, the pair were looking shockingly cosy as they were spotted grinding up against each other while watching rehearsals. Liam was standing behind Rita with his arms around her neck, while Rita held his forearm. And unsurprisingly, it seems that Cheryl was not impressed, as the pair have been working together for the past six months – while Cheryl and Liam were still together.

“Seeing Liam and Rita together at the VMAs was the latest source of upset for Cheryl,” our insider explains. “Liam’s behaviour since the split has been really embarrassing for Cheryl – he’s acting like a man set free, heading out with every girl he can. Cheryl was expecting she would have to deal with the humiliation of him hooking up with younger girls, and the inevitable comparison to her – she had prepared herself for it.
