Ranveer Singh is arguably Bollywood’s greatest showman. A maverick in his craft. An actor to reckon with. A trendsetter whose sartorial choices elevated the style game for men in India. A powerhouse brand in himself. He plays to the galleries with pizzazz and an inimitable, quirky sense of style. And as far as his performances go, Ranveer’s career graph since his debut in 2010 is unparalleled.
The 36-year-old is away on a much-needed holiday with Deepika Padukone, his superstar wife, following a whirlwind of promotions and shoots for 83, his latest release. The Kabir Khan film is based on India’s 1983 World Cup victory at Lord’s, London.
“After marriage, I figured the importance of maintaining a work-life balance. That it’s important to spend quality time with loved ones, with unfiltered conversations and relaxation. We realised that we need to take breaks and get time off together, otherwise we can just get swept up in the day-today business of schedules, appearances and commitments,” Ranveer shares.
The couple has often been spotted taking short trips together, or making time for friends and extended family — be it Ranveer attending his manager’s wedding in Goa between promotional activities, or Deepika celebrating her friend’s wedding in Bengaluru. Life in the spotlight can be tiresome, but Ranveer loves every moment of it.
“I’m a people person. I get super excited when I meet people. And since I like to entertain them, it all comes naturally to me. It’s neither an act nor a burden. I’m accessible most of the time, but post marriage, I have responsibilities and need to create a balance between my personal and professional life.”
