To be at the centre of everything I crashed at the Spanish-style El Paseo Hotel (standard rooms from £103pn, elpaseohotel.com) just off South Beach, before moving onto the luxurious Vagabond Hotel (rooms from £100pn, thevagabondhotel. com). The pool was the perfect place to play out my ‘I’m rich and famous’ fantasy, with my room’s rain shower, kingsize bed and Wi-Fi (oh hiii, Instagram!) contributing to the illusion.
