How did speeding star steer clear of charges?

TIGER WOOD’S crippling car wreck may trigger a probe by the California Attorney General’s office into the L.A. County Sheriff’s Office amid critics’ complaints the golf great seemed to get preferential treatment, sources spilled.

“It’s likely already in the works,” said acclaimed L.A. private investigator Paul Huebl, who noted neither the AG’s staff nor sheriff’s officers would be inclined to reveal an ongoing investigation.

As The National ENQUIRER reported, the links legend was barreling down a highway apparently hitting 87 mph in a 45-mph zone the morning of Feb. 23 when he careened across a median and drove off a cliff!

Shortly afterward, authorities announced Tiger wouldn’t face charges because cops didn’t witness the wipeout and revealed they never ordered tests to determine if the recovering addict was under the influence!

But new questions were raised after L.A. County’s full investigation report revealed an officer at the scene claimed to have found an empty, unmarked pill bottle.
