It’s not a proper Saturday night if Stephen Mulhern isn’t on the box. Whether it’s fronting his own shows like Catchphrase and In For A Penny, or joining forces with mates Ant and Dec on Saturday Night Takeaway, Stephen’s always there to entertain.
And this week he’s back with a new series of game show Rolling In It – where players team up with famous faces to try to win big on a giant arcadestyle game.
“The shows I do are a dream and I’m very lucky to be able to do them,” Stephen, 44, tells new as we catch up. Here, he chats about embarrassing the contestants, his friendship with Simon Cowell and why he’d go back to working on the markets if it all ended tomorrow…
Hi Stephen. You’re returning with a new series of Rolling In It. Is it nice to be back?
I honestly believe it’s the best game show on telly because it delivers everything in every sort of emotive way – highs, lows, funny, comedy, anxiety. If you were to come into the show halfway through, you’d still be able to enjoy it. Even at the end you don’t know what’s going to happen, as it’s a game of luck.
What was the response to the first series?
