‘I'm finally getting the support I always hoped for'

Following her documentary about life with son Harvey, Katie Price’s friends tell new the star is bowled over by fan support

Katie Price has been overwhelmed by the praise from fans after her recent documentary showed the true reality of living with her disabled son Harvey, 18.

The BBC programme Katie Price: Harvey And Me explored the difficulties the pair would face as Harvey – who suffers with Septo-optic dysplasia, a rare genetic disorder affecting his eyesight, as well as autism and Prader-Willi syndrome – enters adulthood.

Viewers insisted the show had made them see Katie, 42, in a new light and TV star Richard Madeley even called for the mum to be placed on the New Year’s Honours list for services to motherhood.

“Katie is overwhelmed by the positive public feedback,” a source close to the star tells new. “She’s had a lot of negative comments and trolling over the years, but it always hurt the most when people questioned her as a mother. She feels like now she’s finally getting the respect and support she has always hoped for.”
