Since first appearing on The One Show eleven years ago, it’s safe to say that Alex Jones has become one of the nation’s favourite telly presenters.
She also impressed us with her moves in 2011’s Strictly Come Dancing, eventually finishing in fifth place, and even had a cameo in 2016’s Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie.
The following year, she took on another new role – as a mum – when she gave birth to her first son Teddy, now four, with her insurance broker husband, Charlie Thomson. Another son – Kit, now two – followed in 2019, and Alex, 44, is currently expecting a baby sister for her two boys.
When we catch up with the Welsh star, she opens up to us about how different her pregnancy has been this time around, not least because it’s been during the Covid pandemic.
“I’ve had no face-to-face contact with midwives at all,” the yoga-loving mum reveals. “At the minute I’m just hoping that everything is okay.”
Alex is still splitting her time between the BBC studios and her London family home, until she feels ready to hand her presenting reins over to The One Show’s latest recruits, Ronan Keating and Jermaine Jenas.
Here, she talks about expecting a baby girl, the perils of morning sickness and why she couldn’t hack her vegan diet...
Hey, Alex! How have you been feeling during your third pregnancy?
