Our relationship is better than ever – our split made us stronger'

In their first shoot since reuniting, Lauren Goodger and Charles Drury open up about rebuilding trust and whether the Essex girl is planning a return to TV

Following Lauren Goodger’s story the last two years has been a roller coaster ride of highs and lows. From announcing she was pregnant with her first child with a photoshoot in new in January last year, to revealing just over 12 months on that she’s expecting her second daughter, Lauren’s life – and Instagram feed – has transformed. And from the struggles and anxieties of a new mum, to a sudden split from the father of her children Charles Drury while pregnant, the former TOWIE star has lived each step of the way in the glare of the public eye.

When we arrive at the photoshoot, located at an east London studio, we’re delighted to see a last minute addition to our family feature – Charles! The pair exclusively confirm speculation that they have rekindled their romance and are determined to make it work, for the sake of their growing family.

As Lauren is being preened and polished in the make-up chair, she greets us by saying, “I’m 31 weeks now!” and tells us she barely got any sleep the night before.

As the day goes on, we get to see how much Charles brings as a father. From tenderly cradling their nine-month-old daughter Larose while Lauren poses for our shots, to feeding her healthy snacks, we can sense the love he feels for his family.

And so, after a quick lunch (and pasta with tomato sauce for little Larose), we pull the couple aside for our interview. We’re fully aware it’s going to be a sensitive chat, as it’s the first time the duo have talked openly since their shock split, but we are pleasantly surprised by their candour and honesty.
