AS SHE LAUNCHES HER FAMOUS FIRSTS PODCAST JENNI FALCONER REFLECTS ON HER OWN HUMBLE BEGINNINGS AS A PRESENTER

In 1994, Jenni Falconer made her TV debut when she appeared on Blind Date, at the tender age of 18, while studying at the University of Leeds. The experience inspired her to pursue a career in broadcasting and she dropped out of uni the following year, when ITV offered her a contract.

Fast forward 27 years and Jenni, 45, hasn’t looked back. She went on to host travel shows such as Holiday and was the main co-host of Entertainment Today on GMTV for many years, as well as being a roving reporter on This Morning. She’s also presented radio shows on Heart and Smooth, and has her own fitness podcast, RunPod.

Now Jenni has added another string to her bow with a new podcast called Famous Firsts, which sees her chat to music legends to hear the stories behind their firsts, including first gigs, first record deals, first TV appearances and more.

Here, the Glaswegian presenter – who has Ella, 10, with husband James Midgley – talks about being charmed by Ed Sheeran and reveals some of her own career firsts…
