Once you’ve starred in a reality show, it can sometimes feel like an impossible mission to pursue other careers, but former Love Island winner Amber Davies has overcome the barriers to become a successful theatre actress.
Her hard work on and off stage has meant she’s recently purchased a three-story home in Essex, which is 100 per cent her type on paper. “It was the first house that I viewed, and I just loved it. I was wasting so much money on rent because I just felt a little nervous to buy somewhere over here as it felt like a massive commitment.”
The 23-year-old eventually got the confidence to put all her eggs in one basket (we’ll stop with the Love Island puns now) and told OK! she feels “lucky and proud” to have been able to buy such a nice home at a young age, adding, “I never thought that I’d be this independent!”
She has been able to buy this home, as well as a property in North Wales where she is from, by being fairly sensible with her money. There have been a few handbag splurges, but who can blame her for that? “My Chanel bag is an investment. I can give that to my daughter,” she says. “I’ve always had a handbag passion. When I was 13, I could walk down the street and tell you exactly which designer make a woman’s bag was. I grew up in a working class family so I’ve never had loads of money and couldn’t afford it. Now I can treat myself and I take pride in what I buy, but don’t feel the need to constantly shop.”
