Emmerdale actor Danny Miller and his fiancée Steph Jones just knew they were “destined” to become parents. And on 25 October at 9.16am their dreams finally came true when midwife Steph welcomed their adorable son Albert Miller into the world, weighing 6lb 11oz.
The moment was all the more emotional as Danny and Steph, who has polycystic ovary syndrome, had been trying to conceive naturally for a year and were just days away from starting IVF when she discovered she was pregnant. It’s safe to say there were plenty of tears at the birth – and at our exclusive shoot, where the pair recalled the moment their beautiful baby boy arrived.
“It’s emotional to talk about now,” says Danny, who plays Aaron Dingle in the ITV soap. “I was in bits. It’s made me much more in love with Steph.”
The couple, both 30, first met in primary school and have been in a relationship for two years. They got engaged last January. Here, they tell OK! about Albert’s arrival, well wishes from Danny’s co-stars, and the sweet meaning behind their little boy’s name.
Congratulations to both of you! How are you finding parenthood so far?
Danny: It’s been amazing. We’ve had a real whirlwind of emotions. Getting him home was the biggest realisation that it’s just the three of you. When you’re in hospital you have the support, then when you get home it’s just you two and the baby. It’s about working out a new way of living and adjusting to everything.
