Legendary Coronation Street actress Beverley Callard dramatically catapulted her builder husband into the limelight during her time in the I’m A Celebrity… castle last year. While singing his praises, she described Jon, her husband of 10 years, as a “megash*g”.
And since the 64-year-old actress, who played Liz McDonald for 30 years, walked away from the cobbles, she has begun a new adventure with Jon, 56.
“We’ve bought a motorhome,” confides Beverley during our exclusive photoshoot.
“We’re going to travel all over Europe when we’re allowed to,” Jon adds.
The couple, who met on a blind date, plan to move from Manchester to Kent with their Black Russian Terriers, Arthur and Elsie, to be closer to their blended family. Beverley is mum to Rebecca, 46, and Joshua, 31, while Jon is dad to Ben, 34, Jon, 31, and Danielle, 29.
Here, the pair talk about their plans to renew their wedding vows, overcoming obstacles and the secret of their successful marriage...
Congratulations on getting your motorhome…
Beverley: Thank you. For me, because I’m a well-recognised face, this is the perfect escape.
Jon: We didn’t really give buying it a lot of thought. We just thought, “Shall we get a motorhome?” Then Beverley went on the internet and by the next week we had it.
