Y&R’s Nick pops the question to Sharon — who was ready to break up!

As Nick and Victor wage war over custody of Christian, Sharon’s own past with the boy is causing big complications. “I love Nick and Sharon together like an awful lot of the audience do, and we’ve carefully rebuilt their relationship and made it solid, but now the threat of the whole Christian thing is a mess, isn’t it?” notes Executive Producer/Head Writer Mal Young. “Her involvement with Christian and all those lies, and the way Christian came into Nick’s life, and the way Nick only just recently found out that Christian isn’t his but he loves the child as his, and the whole Adam thing and his relationship with Victor, it’s so complicated!”

The fact that Nick could lose custody because of the skeletons in Sharon’s closet worries his attorney, Brittany. The legal eagle explains that a social worker will be observing both Victor and Nick with Christian, as well as interviewing family members, including Mariah and Faith. “Nick hates every single part of this process,” shares his portrayer, Joshua Morrow. “He went through hell to get his son back in his life, and he was then miraculously given back to him, and he went through the death of his wife and Sharon doing all of the stuff she did. Finally, he’s in a good place, Christian seems happy and healthy and in a stable home environment, but now Victor is threatening to take it away from him. Every part of this process is scary and doesn’t make sense to Nick. But he’s pissed off and willing to fight and go through it.”
