WHEN accusations surfaced claiming Meghan Markle had bullied staff members at Buckingham Palace before she and her husband Prince Harry left their royal duties in early 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their supporters strenuously denied the allegations. The authors of the Sussex-friendly tell-all, Finding Freedom, described two former employees rescinding their accusations, while Meghan and Harry went on record calling the claims against them “a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation.”
Now, in a Star exclusive, insiders are lifting the lid and setting the record straight about what it’s really like to be employed by Meghan, 40, and Harry, 37. The pair are often perceived Stateside as low-key, due to their barefoot-and-pregnant photo shoots and the blockbuster March 2021 interview in which they opened up about life in the royal family. But insiders say that’s all for show. “They are the worst people in the world to work for,” says one source, noting that Meghan’s micromanaging ways can only be rivaled by spoiled Harry’s disgusting habits inside the couples’ nine-bedroom, $14.7 million dollar Montecito, Calif., spread. “You couldn’t pay me a million dollars to go back and work for them,” adds the former staffer of the parents of Archie, 2, and Lilibet, 9 months. “I’d rather not have a job than be at their beck and call.”
