WHEN Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford had a dramatic intervention with comedian Pete Davidson outside their daughter Kaia’s New York City apartment in late December 2019 over his relationship with her, they had a very clear ultimatum for the troubled Saturday Night Live star: Get clean or get out of Kaia’s life.

Pete decided to do both. Soon after the tense showdown, the 26-year-old NYC native decided to get help for his demons and broke up with the 18-year-old model. The loved-up pair had been linked since October 2019, when they were spotted on a dinner date, and were photographed during a hot-and-heavy makeout session at a Miami hotel a month later. But according to an on-set SNL insider, a heartbroken Pete cut Kaia loose for her own good — and out of respect for her parents. “Word on set is that Pete cares about Kaia so much, he felt he had to let her go before going to get help,” the insider says. “It sounds like her parents really put pressure on him to end it and not leave Kaia in limbo.”
