FOR years, Lisa Marie Presley remained quiet on her relationship with alcohol, opioids and cocaine. That was until 2017, when, during her bitter divorce battle from musician Michael Lockwood, the only child of Elvis Presley revealed in court documents that she’d been “abusing cocaine terribly” in 2015 as well as using painkillers and booze. Then earlier this year, the 51-year-old mother of four publicly opened up about her struggles in the foreword of Harry Nelson’s book The United States of Opioids: A Prescription for Liberating a Nation in Pain, writing: “[I’m] grateful to be alive today.”
