Stand-up comedian Kevin Hart is everywhere. Movies (Franklin in the Jumanji reboot adventure films, 2017-now), TV shows (he hosts comedy series Laugh Out Loud, 2019now), TV adverts, stand-up in comedy clubs – if it’s going to make you laugh, Kevin is game for it. And now the 41year-old is tackling gameshows with his series Total Knock Out (2018-now, TKO), hosting the obstacle-course reality show that forces contestants to bob and weave like a boxer, run and hurdle over speedbumps like an Olympic hurdler, and show the balance of a ballerina. If they fall short in any of these athletic endeavours, it’s game over!
HOST WITH THE MOST
Despite his short stature, 1.6m-tall Kevin is a man on a mission when it comes to his reality show. “I can totally knock you out, but I won’t do it!” he says. So can Kevin run the gauntlet and deliver a TKO to his own show? “I wanted to do a show that would appeal to everyone from kids, to their folks, to their grandmamas! I wanted to do a show that would merge funny and physical fitness. You’re dodging all kinds of objects that are being thrown and the beauty of it is that it’s the people you are competing against who’re throwing the stuff.”
