While her looks are age-defying, Angelina Jolie’s long list of accolades and tireless humanitarian work could mean she’s mistaken for someone who’s lived twice as long.

The mother of six, actress and director – who turned 45 on June 4 – admits in recent years she’s been just a shadow of her strong, former self. “I’d become, how do I say this, smaller, insignificant, even if I didn’t show it,” she admitted to French publication, Madam Figaro. She was referring to her later years with Brad Pitt, 56, whom she split from in 2016, after 12 years together. The fearless woman remembered by fans from her Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Taking Lives days was gone. “The last few years have not been the easiest, I have had my ups and downs, I haven’t felt very strong so, there’s something when you are not feeling very strong where you push yourself,” she told The Sun.
