As the Duke and Duchess settle into LA life, They're still fighting a war back in the UK
Harry & Meghan Giving Back
They may have been wearing protective face masks and baseball caps, but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle couldn’t go unrecognised as they stepped out in their new neighbourhood in LA on April 17. Spotted for the first time since they made the move from Canada, the former senior royals had their arms full with meals they were personally delivering to those most in need during the COVID-19 crisis.

Wasting no time getting started on their philanthropic work in the area, Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, have thrown their support behind non-profit charity Project Angel Food, which provides groceries to people living with critical illnesses who are at higher risk during the pandemic. It’s believed the duchess was inspired to work with the organisation by her mother Doria Ragland, who has been a long-time supporter of their work in the community.

The couple also spent Good Friday handing out meals for the group, with one source revealing: “Meghansaid it felt good to finally be out and about, connecting with people … She plans on volunteering much more with Harry.”

Indeed, since officially giving up their duties as senior working royals in the UK on March 31, the pair have been focused on creating their new life in Meghan’s hometown, where they plan to raise their 11-month-old son Archie away from the pressures of the royal spotlight.

Project Angel Food’s executive director Richard Ayoub told WHO, “They were extremely down to earth and genuinely interested in every single person they met … What Meghan said is she wanted to show Harry Los Angeles through the eyes of philanthropy.” He added: “There’s obviously a great deal of love and selflessness between them. They both are individuals who want to know about others.”
