During a visit to rural Wales with husband Prince William to mark St David’s Day on March 1, Kate Middleton’s mind was firmly on her eldest son. After the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge toured a goat farm, where they were given a display of a robot sweeping the barn, the mum-of-three couldn’t help but share a sweet tidbit about their private life.
“That was George’s job at half term,” Kate, 40, explained about her family’s recent trip to their country estate in Norfolk during the February school holidays. “Moving feed,” she added.
The Cambridges have increasingly been called on lately to take on more work to support the ailing Queen, 95, who has just recovered after catching COVID-19 last month. As they balance their duty with slowly introducing their little ones – Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3 – to their royal destiny, while trying to give them a “normal” upbringing, a permanent move to the country is looking like the perfect solution.
A NEW ERA
While Kate used to be more protective of her little ones, she appears to be keener to open up about their private life. “The changing times have required Kate to start to share a bit more,” royal expert Sarah Gristwood told People.
The pair made their rural home, Anmer Hall, located within Her Majesty’s Sandringham Estate, their permanent residence in 2015. Two years later, William and Kate made the big decision to move their family to London when George was ready to start school.
