Battle of the Sevens

Mention High-End Smartphones and it is a fair chance that the first two that will spring to most people’s minds will be the iPhone 7 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. But which of these two is actually the one for you? We pit them in a contest against each other to find out.

One is the flagship from Cupertino, the other is the apple (pun intended) of the Korean eye. And they both deliver a terrific dollop in terms of performance - so much so that each can lay legitimate claim to the title of “Best Smartphone in the World.” But what if you had to choose between the iPhone 7 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge? Well, let’s help you make up your mind.

Design and appearance

If you had told us a few years ago that a Samsung phone would look better than an iPhone, we would have laughed at the very notion. The stark fact, however, is that with the S6 and the S7 Edge, Samsung came back to the phone design wars with a vengeance, blending glass and metal brilliantly. But while the Galaxy S6 was a clear winner over the iPhone 6S, the battle between then S7 Edge and the iPhone 7 Plus turns out to be a close one, if you take the black variant of the latter, which is in our opinion, simply stunning. We are still giving this to the S7 Edge for managing to squeeze in a 5.5 inch display into a much more compact frame, but this is a tight call.
