A season we so long for, the festival of lights, is finally here. Tiharis reckoned with Lord Ram's coronation ceremony as the King of Ayodhya after his return to the kingdom from 14 years of exile along with his wife Sita & brother Laxman after killing the demon, King Ravan. Tiharsymbolizes the victory of good over evil, with lamps lit as a sign of celebration and hope for mankind. It is a festival of joy, splendor, brightness and happiness. It is the festival of lights and is celebrated with great enthusiasm by Hindus all over the world. The uniqueness of this festival is its harmony of five varied philosophies, with each day to a special thought or ideal. This festival is celebrated for five continuous days. As people celebrate each of its five days of festivities with a true understanding, it uplifts and enriches their lives. No Tihar is complete without fireworks, lamps and sweets.

Any meals, specifically meal of festivals are incomplete without desserts. Desserts in our festivals always symbolize sweets. Sweets/mithai has its own traditional significance. You can with great enthusiasm by Hindus all over the world. The uniqueness of this festival is its harmony of five varied philosophies, with each day to a special thought or ideal. This festival is celebrated for five continuous days. As people celebrate each of its five days of festivities with a true understanding, it uplifts and enriches their lives. No Tihar is complete without fireworks, lamps and sweets.
