Let's Move To: Harrogate

LOCATION, LOCATION

Like spa towns the world over, Harrogate has beauty and class. With its famous waters making it the height of fashion during the 19th century, the town rose to prominence as a ‘go-to’ destination for the privileged classes. Innumerable grand hotels were built on its leafy avenues and entertainment spaces were established, including the stunning Royal Hall – still drawing some of the biggest names in music and comedy, and the perennially beautiful Valley Gardens, the most idyllic spot for a Sunday stroll and a coffee.

Re-defining itself as a conference town in the 1980s, Harrogate became the playground for a new generation, with its first class shops, amazing eateries and year round itinerary of festivals, shows and events confirming it as one of the UK’s top destinations for a day out or weekend getaway – and for those with deeper pockets, a glorious place to live.

BAG A PROPERTY

Harrogate is a large town and as such offers a wide range of properties across its central, suburban and outlying rural areas and villages. If you are thinking big, it has it in spades, with £2m potentially opening the door to a centrally located six bedroom semi-detached house in the Duchy, or a detached house in the leafy village of Pannal. Entry level properties start at £150k for a small flat, with modest three bedroom semi-detached houses starting at around £300k depending on size and location.
