Kennedy, 38, was flying his Piper Saratoga from New Jersey to Martha’s Vineyard for the wedding of his cousin Rory Kennedy.

Officially, National Transportation Safety Board investigators blamed the crash on “spatial disorientation,” or novice pilot John’s inability to discern the horizon from the water.
