The Handmaid’s Tale actor Joseph Fiennes joins his explorer cousin Sir Ranulph for the trip of a lifetime
Explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes has crossed Antarctica on foot, scaled Mount Everest and found the lost city of Iram in Oman. But his latest adventure was a first for him – going on an expedition with his distant cousin, actor Joseph Fiennes.
The two teamed up to retrace Sir Ranulph’s 1969 expedition to the River Nile in Egypt for a new three-part National Geographic series.
While Sir Ranulph, 74, is an old hand at challenging territory, for Joseph, 48, it was a whole new experience. The Shakespeare in Love star had to learn to drive up sand dunes, keep his cool while coming face to face with deadly snakes, and crawl through claustrophobic tombs.
