Justin Theroux gives us the lowdown on The Leftovers’ weird and wonderful final season.
Fans of The Leftovers will be looking for answers when the bizarrely brilliant US drama returns to Sky Atlantic this week for its third and final season.
As viewers will know, the cult show follows the aftermath of an unexplained event called The Sudden Departure that caused two per cent of the world’s population to mysteriously disappear.
The second season saw cop Kevin Garvey, played by Justin Theroux, return to life after dying several times. Now, as the final season picks up three years on, preacher Matt Jamison (Christopher Eccleston) is claiming that Kevin might be the messiah as the townsfolk of Miracle, Texas prepare for the anniversary of The Sudden Departure, which Kevin is investigating with the help of his girlfriend Nora (Carrie Coon).
