Not one, but two Game of Thrones favorites are teaming up to play Les Dawson in the new series of Sky Arts’ comedy anthology Urban Myths, which wryly reimagines surprising celebrity stories.
Written by and co-starring Inside No. 9’s Steve Pemberton, the first of four episodes stars John Bradley, who played Samwell Tarly in Game of Thrones, as a young Dawson before he found fame as Britain’s much-loved curmudgeonly comedian and presenter.
Meanwhile, Mark Addy (AKA Robert Baratheon in Thrones) plays Dawson – who died of a heart attack, aged 62, in 1993 – in his later years, as he looks back on his life.
The half-hour story follows Dawson as he leaves his Manchester home in 1953 to chase a dream of becoming a serious novelist in Paris.
