Moors Murderer Ian Brady Offers a Chilling Insight Into the Mind of a Psychopath
Twelve months before Moors Murderer Ian Brady’s death in May of this year, psychologist Professor Uta Frith approached him as part of her research into the psychopathic mind.
While serial killer Brady, who tortured and killed five children with his partner Myra Hindley between 1963 and 1965, declined to appear on film, he did agree to correspond with Frith, sending her numerous letters and even a Christmas card.
The content of those letters is examined in this week’s one-off documentary Horizon: What Makes a Psychopath? which also features chilling interviews with four prison inmates in America who have been convicted of crimes including murder, rape, kidnapping and child molesting.
JAIL MAIL
Although the US convicts freely discuss their criminal acts, Frith notes that Brady did not refer to his crimes at all.
