Comedian Katherine Ryan turns her hand to sitcom in Netflix’s The Duchess, which she wrote and stars in as Katherine, a single mum whose daughter, Olive (Katy Byrne), is the centre of her universe.
Katherine is determined to give Olive the younger sibling she so desperately wants, but soon becomes disillusioned with the standard of donors at the fertility clinic.
One of her options is Shep (Rory Keenan) – Olive’s father, and Katherine’s enemy. The pair are unable to agree on just about anything, but Katherine has to admit that they’ve done a brilliant job with Olive – so why mess with a winning formula?
