The Purge movies get a terrifying tv spin-off on Amazon Prime video.
The Purge
NEW
Genre: Horror
Available: Wednesday 5 September
Fans of film quartet The Purge will already be familiar with the horror movies’ shocking portrayal of extreme violence in a brutal dystopian-future America.
Now, the gruesome franchise comes to Amazon Prime Video in a 10-part TV series that sees new episodes released every Wednesday.
Like the movies, the show is set in an alternate United States ruled by the totalitarian New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA).
The NFFA has instigated the annual Purge, an event where citizens can vent all of their rage in one 12-hour killing spree by raping, murdering, looting, and destroying as much as they want over the course of a single night.
