When Daisy May and Charlie Cooper first started writing a comedy about their lives in the Cotswolds, the siblings never imagined the show would get a full series, let alone win two BAFTAs.
Now, three years after This Country first arrived on BBC3 Online, the beautifully observed mockumentary returns for a third and final six-part series featuring rural wasters Kerry and Kurtan Mucklowe, the cousins who fill their time arguing over oven space and annoying the local vicar.
‘It’s time for something new. Also, we’ve run out of ideas,’ laughs Daisy May. ‘The point of the show is that nothing happens in the village, so we knew there was a limit. We wanted to go out on top – but we’ll be back if we need more cash!’
