After last year’s entertaining trek around South-east Asia, comedian Jack Whitehall and his irascible father Michael embark on a European adventure this week as the pair return for a second series of Netflix’s Travels with My Father.
For Whitehall Snr, the journey to the Continent – from Germany to Turkey – is a chance to introduce his son to some culture and history, but the comic’s more interested in Eurovision and adrenaline sports.
We caught up with Whitehall Snr to chat about the trip and take a look at his holiday snaps…
Last series, your son persuaded you to visit South-east Asia. Why did you choose Europe this time? To introduce him to European culture, as he has lots of gaps in his knowledge. I wanted to do a version of the Grand Tour – though Jack thought that was the TV show with Jeremy Clarkson. No, Jack, I was thinking more Lord Byron...
