Weatherfield already has two residents who’ve been through transplant surgery – Tracy and Carla receiving kidneys from Samir and Aidan – and it looks like Peter may join them when Daniel offers to give his alcoholic brother part of his liver.

But Peter doesn’t want to be saved, and sees only one outcome to his recent relapse...

As the cabbie returns from a stint in rehab at the start of the week, he initially feels optimistic; reporting to Ken that he didn’t touch a drop of booze during his time away.

But when he goes to hospital for a check-up, he’s told his liver function hasn’t improved.
