Following in the footsteps of Pauline Collins in the hit 1989 movie Shirley Valentine, eight female celebrities, all in their 40s, 50s and 60s, are heading to sunny Greece in a bid to rediscover themselves in ITV’s new series Our Shirley Valentine Summer.

Made by the team behind The Real Marigold Hotel, the four-part series captures that show’s feelgood spirit with a touch of Love Island thrown in as the ladies share a villa on the Greek island of Naxos for three and a half weeks.

All the women are single and have been through the break up of a long-term relationship or marriage and are at the point in their lives where they want to experience a fresh adventure, learn a new skill and maybe even find romance.

The group includes Aggie MacKenzie, 62, the former presenter of How Clean Is Your House?, and Ingrid Tarrant, 63, TV personality and ex-wife of Chris Tarrant. Here, in an exclusive interview, the pair tell TV Times about their Greek odyssey…
