Will Yasmeen break free?

Alya makes it her mission to get her gran away from evil Geoff

Yasmeen has been suffering in silence for months at the hands of husband Geoff, who’s controlling who she sees, where she goes and how much she spends.

Over the coming weeks, he will attempt to isolate her from friends and family forever, by insisting they start a new life in Cyprus.

Geoff’s grand plan is a red-flag moment for Alya, who begs her gran to leave her man. When she can’t convince Yasmeen to walk away, she reports Geoff to the police and also does some digging into the DJ-come-magician’s past. As she presents her findings to Yas, will the pensioner finally admit what’s going on behind her own front door?

‘There is often that thing with females: they want to protect, to heal, and blame themselves for things that happen,’ says Yasmeen actor Shelley King. ‘Yasmeen has a history of getting it wrong with people, and doesn’t want to feel that she has got it wrong again.’

Alya is given hope when an opportunity comes up for an overseas trip. A girls’ holiday would be the ideal chance to get Yasmeen out of No.6 and ultimately to safety.

But will her escape plot come off, or will Geoff remain one step ahead?
