Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid swap breakfast telly for a post-watershed World Cup special…
NEW CURRENT AFFAIRS
Good Evening Britain
THURSDAY/ITV/9.15 PM
Fans of Good Morning Britain tune in as much for the banter between hosts Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan as they do to get updates on the latest news, showbiz and current affairs.
The pair famously bicker about everything from football (Piers supports Arsenal, while Susanna is an avid Crystal Palace fan) to Love Island, which Susanna loves and Piers loathes.
So can you imagine how much worse they’d be in a no-holds-barred, late-night show? Well, wonder no more, because this Thursday Susanna and Piers will be trading in their early morning wake up call to present Good Evening Britain, a one-off hourlong special to coincide with England’s World Cup upcoming match against Belgium.
Here in an exclusive interview with TV Times, Piers, 53, and Susanna, 47, who actually get on surprisingly well off screen, tell us what’s in store…
How exciting is it to be moving to a prime-time slot?
Piers: I’m very excited about two words… ‘post’ and ‘watershed’! I also think Susanna’s absolutely thrilled – the one part of the day she hasn’t had to be with me so far is evenings, so now her life’s sorted!
Susanna: I do enough eye-rolling at Piers between 6am and 8.30am, so I can’t imagine how much I’m going to be doing after 9 o’clock at night! I’ll have to have a special eye roll if there’s any bad language.
Will the post-watershed time slot give you more freedom then, Piers?
