How many people does it take to run a pub? Though Mick has gone off to be with injured Nancy, and surly Shirley’s doing porridge, that still leaves Whitney, Johnny, Tina and mute Tracey to pull pints at The Vic – roughly one member of staff per punter.

But Linda clearly believes that’s not enough, hence her decision to send over bar manager Woody from her mum Elaine’s boozer in Watford to help out. How they’re going to pay him is anyone’s guess. We assume he’s turned down cold, hard cash in favour of unlimited pints and pork scratchings.
