After unmasking serial killers on a murderous trip to Blackpool and a homicidal cruise on the Tyne, coach driver Terry (Johnny Vegas) and tour guide Gemma (Sian Gibson) are on the trail of another assassin in Gold’s whodunnit sequel Dial M for Middlesbrough.

In the one-off comedy, the now-engaged amateur sleuths are on their way to pick up clients Mildred (Sheila Reid) and Hilda (Georgie Glen) to take them to a funeral in Middlesbrough. But when the coach breaks down, they stop at the dilapidated Shady Creek Caravan Park.
