The embattled pop singer is in a bitter war with her ex, who’s demanding more cash.

Britney Spears is fighting for her $275 million fortune after her ex Kevin Federline made a play to double his monthly allowance from the pop star, who ended a successful four-year residency in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve.

Several sources confirm to Woman’s Day that Kevin, 40, who was married to Britney between 2004 and 2007, has asked for $50,000 a month instead of the $25,000 he currently receives in child support for their two sons Sean, 12, and Jayden, 11.

“Kevin doesn’t want the boys to think he’s not able to provide for them like their mummy does,” explains a source. “He says he wants to appear equal in their eyes.” But Britney’s dad Jamie Spears, 64 – who’s had control over the 36-year-old’s finances since her public mental breakdown in 2008 – is so far refusing to budge on Kevin’s demands.
