IT’S a cold winter’s day in Cape Town – the sky is grey, the wind is pumping and the temperature has plummeted. But the couple on the beach don’t seem to mind the chilly weather at all. The looks that pass between them on the video speak volumes: they’re head over heels in love.
Qiniso van Damme is all smiles as she fools around in the sand, mimicking Gareth Ehret’s beach yoga moves.
Gareth has been peppering his social media with loved-up pictures and videos ever since Qiniso handed him the final rose on The Bachelorette South Africa.
For 16 weeks viewers closely followed her journey to finding love on M-Net’s hit dating show. In the end she fell hook, line and sinker for Gareth, or Gaz as she fondly calls him.
The show was filmed in November but for months the pair were forced to hide their romance from the public so they didn’t let the cat out of the bag while the show was on. Now they want to shout their love from the rooftops.
“What I love most about Gaz is his kindness and honesty,” Qiniso says. “He also has a beautiful smile that melts my heart.”
We’re catching up with SA’s new favourite couple on a Zoom video call. They split their time between Qiniso’s apartment in Sea Point and Stellenbosch, where Gareth lives. Qiniso (28) has brought so much joy to his life, Gareth tells YOU. “I’ve always said I only allow positive people in my life and she’s the epitome of that.”
