He’s just dropped his third solo album and the brand-new single All the Beauty. The former Parlotones frontman, who’s now living in the Netherlands, gave us the lowdown on his latest musical offering.
Congrats on the album, but why the title, A World at Suicide?
It’s the title of one of the songs – the full lyric goes like this, “When a world’s at suicide, you gotta be kind.”
The world has always oscillated between what seems to be relative calm to chaos – with the speed of news being disseminated by the internet, the chaos is ostensibly engulfing us, and we have become very binary in our opinions, leaving little room for nuance, kindness and tolerance.
If we approach our debates and differences with kindness, perhaps we won’t be so intent on the self-sabotage that seems to surround us.
