A Festive Frame Of Mind

Every year, the festive season in India brings with it a different kind of celebratory mood to be picked up by the fashion industry. From sharper cuts to bouncier ruffles, a sea of innovation, trends, and styles definitely helps one to create a winning festive wardrobe for themselves and also their loved ones. Looking fashionable to a T and enjoying every minute of the revelries with family and close ones is undeniably an integral part of any occasion. It is not a child’s play but it can indeed be smooth and enjoyable, provided you decide to be yourself.

If you are looking to bedeck yourself in festive splendour, allow us to tell you of some trends that you and your entire family can take cues from this season.

HERITAGE FABRICS ARE HERE TO STAY

Of late, the usage of India’s ancient fabrics and textiles has been brought to the fore, be it at fashion weeks, designer previews, soirees or any other festivity. What further fuels the fame of these fabrics is their rediscovery and revival by design heavyweights of the industry, such as Sabyasachi, Abraham & Thakore, Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani, Rahul Mishra, and the likes. From khadi and mulmul (muslin) to Benarasi, chanderi, and many more, India’s heritage fabrics are constantly being reinvented and celebrated by scores of designers in an avant-garde way; not to mention the revival of indigo-dyed clothes. So this season, you can simply ditch the artificial and run-of-the-mill, and opt for natural, handloomed pieces instead.
