Motherhood - Reorganize Your Priorities
Glittering India|March 2018

Motherhood is indeed an opportunity for a woman but one of the most difficult things about being a mother is that a lot of shifts have to be made in the priorities. Once you have children you can just no longer thing about just yourself. There is always a you with them. You always tend to surround your kids until they grow older and when they just grow little older to play and be mobile they surround you most of the time. There’s no longer just a you, your life has a new centre which are your kids.

Motherhood - Reorganize Your Priorities

Truly, almost every aspect of your world changes and becomes more tedious. It wouldn’t be wrong if I say sometimes it becomes more stressful and complicated. Most of the time you feel crunched in what you wish to do and the needs. But, being a mother, your perspective is always different and you change your priorities to your kids. You change everything to come up second to your kids, may that be friends, household work or your job. Many women see this as a different perspective, they take this period as an opportunity to reinvigorate your life and take control over your happiness. This is the period when you can actually get more time for yourself and have more fun. I know this is tough to realize especially when you recall the nights when your kid awakes and starts crying. You sometimes don’t even get proper sleep and you feel exhausted whole day. In such a situation you can never think of having fun but believe me if you channelize things you will understand how easy it is to take control over your happiness during this period.

Modern day romance The hook up culture

A hook up culture is one of casual dating which may or may not lead to a long term commitment. Messaging and phoning is rampant and to hook up a few conversations gets you into physical intimacy and contact. Talk over a cup of tea makes for a date. Earlier couples used to merit company through the family social circle or a group of friends. Now with the internet boom, social media and Facebook, dating sites have taken over. The individual has become a commodity. A branded site or just an advertisement for various products does the trick. It has become a point of ridicule that dating comes on a mobile app, and true love has indeed become a shopper’s delight. A hook up syndrome has led to a cultural change; just swiping a card and you get a pretty girl to date.
