It has been proven time and time again that once a woman sets her mind to something, she won’t back down till it’s done. Women have been dominating industries that were previously run by men, and they’re wearing heels while doing it. Successful women entrepreneurs around the world are fighting back and showing that they can’t be taken for granted any longer.
Chennai-based Dr. Leena S. is a prime example of a woman who constantly raises the bar for herself. Popularly referred to as the ‘nail tycoon’, her luxury salon chain, The Nail Artistry, has established itself as the go-to destination for those looking to be pampered with a relaxing and luxurious manicure and pedicure. Now, with a line of very successful ventures and a promising future, we caught up with her recently to know more about her entrepreneurial journey across continents.
THE JOURNEY
Dr. Leena S. describes herself as “just another woman”. Despite helming a thriving business, she does, occasionally, battle feelings of self-doubt and stress. “I feel scared every time I undertake a new project or while making big decisions. But I don’t let my fears get the better of me. I do the best I can, and I try to learn from my mistakes,” she says assuredly. Dr. Leena S. also believes that her mistakes have made her a more successful businesswoman, and had it not been for the stumbling blocks she's encountered, she wouldn’t be who she is today.
