Her impressive clientele includes the who’s who of Bollywood—Sonam Kapoor, Janhavi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and more.

Meet Namrata Soni, renowned celebrity makeup artist, who recently introduced her own line of cosmetic brand Simply Nam, with the launch of a makeup remover and eco-friendly cleansing towel.

HAIR gets Namrata to share interesting insights from her makeup journey.

Q What prompted you to start your own line of makeup?

A For the last few years I’ve been planning to start a line of sustainable and eco-friendly products— something that every woman can use out there, is of good quality and trust-worthy. And who better to do it for people in India than me!

Q You started out 20 years ago when the industry wasn’t as glamorous.

A Yes, the industry was not so glamorous back then but I have seen a beautiful transition, being a part of Bollywood. I’m thankful every day for the last 20 years for this incredible and most fascinating journey I’ve had. Today, I’ve reached a point in my career where I get to choose who I work with and how and the beautiful faces that I work on.

Q How did you know you have the ability to make people look beautiful?
