Beyond The Spotlight, Jesinta Franklin Finds Balance And Beauty In Living The Simple Life And Speaking Her Truth
EMILY TAYLOR: You grew up in the Gold Coast hinterland. What was your childhood like?
JESINTA FRANKLIN: We spent all of our time outdoors. I remember catching yabbies in the creek. We had a billycart that we found at a garage sale one day, and we had slingshots. We’d play in the dam and catch tadpoles. It was relaxed and simple.
ET: Do you ever think about returning?
JF: I have such fond memories of growing up and I love the Gold Coast. I have a deep yearning to go back there. [It’s] my goal and my dream, but of course goals and dreams have to align with husband’s goals and dreams, too!
ET: Do you think you could convince [your husband] Buddy?
JF: When we have a family it’s definitely something to think about. That next chapter, growing up with more space around you, and really thinking about how you want your children to be raised. I feel like our roots are quite similar. [Buddy and I both had] quite a simple upbringing, so that’s what we envision for our family moving forward.
ET: It sounds pretty idyllic! Why did you decide to leave?
