She is 17 years old, which based on our conversation is quite an accomplishment for someone living there.
It seems living a long life is unheard of due to all of the violence and uncer-tainty in the area. Ahed Tamimi, also known as the Palestinian girl who slapped an Israeli soldier has been out of prison since the end of July, but it seems it may have been safer for her to stay in there.
In an interview with her cousin and the world’s youngest journalist, Janna Jihad we learned all about the events that took place before, during and after Ahed’s arrest.
It all began with the soldiers doing what they usually do which according to Janna was shooting innocent people, but this time they shot Ahed’s cousin Mohammed Tamimi and in an attempt to protect him and her home she took action by slapping the soldier.
At first, nothing happened, but a few days later they came and took her in for interrogations which according to Janna lasted for over 10 hours a day. Once Ahed agreed to a plea deal and her sentence began, new issues arose. Her mom and brother were also taken to prison for reasons they were never made aware of. While in prison, Ahed’s family was only able to see her twice and she had to miss out on her senior year of school.

UNTTLD (Simon Belanger)
Luxurious, domineering, and vibrant – three words that solidly define UNTTLD’s incredible showcase of their F/W 2018 collection at Toronto Fashion Week. Adorned with black headdresses (or hats), the models that graced Yorkville Village’s runway flaunted boldcoloured velvet dresses and boss-lady outfits. Since 2011, designer duo Simon Belanger and Jose Manuel Jacques have been creating lux pieces that reflect on masculine feminity to emphasize the capabilities and desires of the modern woman. We had the opportunity to speak to Simon shortly after the show about their one-of-a-kind collection that is truly one to reminisce.
