Bring down the fourth wall and set the table— the stage is transforming into a communal salon. Founders of Junoon, SANJNA KAPOOR and SAMEERA IYENGAR, tell us how to engage with theatre.
The best arts organisations are those that actively cultivate audiences. In Mumbai, one organisation that has been particularly successful in building a society of followers in recent years is Junoon (Junoontheatre.org) founded by Sanjna Kapoor and Sameera Iyengar. But its most recent offering harks back to the French salon culture that thrived from the late 16th to early 18th centuries.
